As we saw in part one, Esther Rockett has relied on information fed to her by Lance Martin AKA Riley Martin about Universal Medicine, she had little experience of her own to base her blogging upon other than three or four complementary health sessions with Serge Benhayon, attendance at one lecture and one two-day workshop over 13 years ago, in 2005.
A long time later, she created a behemoth of online material, where a lack of actual knowledge about the inner workings of the organisation or individuals that she has had little or usually no contact with, has not been a barrier to her making wild assertions and misinterpretations drawn from her supposed ‘study’ of what are publicly available books and recordings.
Posturing as a ‘whistleblower’ appears to be another stretch of the facts to fit a narrative of Esther Rockett’s own creation.
A ‘whistleblower’ is an insider to an organisation who reports dishonest or illegal activities that have occurred within an organisation. Esther Rockett has no special inside knowledge of Universal Medicine and never has had such knowledge. She has admitted as much herself:
‘I don’t have a friend or family member currently involved so I don’t get any glimpses behind the propaganda wall into what goes on behind closed doors’ (Esther Rockett, September 27, 2017)
In fact, Esther Rockett has never had any insight into the workings of Universal Medicine, and we are prompted to ask, has Esther Rockett ever had any ‘friends’ or ‘family’ involved in Universal Medicine to the extent that it would give her any insight into it? Even Esther Rockett would have to admit that she does not.
Her calls over five years for the so called ‘victims’ of Universal Medicine to come forward to justify her malicious and utterly false accusations about sexual assault and molestation of women and young girls has yielded nothing. NOTHING.
Notably, whatever Rockett describes as a ‘propaganda wall’ is a fiction of her own creation – there are no closed doors, Universal Medicine events are open to the public, the teachings are also public with extensive libraries of recordings available to the public or by subscription for private viewing. There is no hidden code or handshakes. What you see is what you get. Those who attend workshops, events or presentations are free to leave, attend again, or not, as they wish.
Esther Rockett’s lack of ‘inside’ knowledge and lack of experience overall of Universal Medicine leaves her in a poor position to say anything about the organisation, let alone pose as an ‘expert’ on anything to do with it.
Most material that Rockett posts is based on half a fact that is then falsely extrapolated into a concoction of fictions to allow a conclusion suggesting something untoward or inappropriate.
Her lack of personal experience, the absence of any actual ‘victims’ of the crimes she complains of (simply because there are none) and her admitted absence of any inside ‘glimpses’ of the organisation she obsesses over has not arrested her over 5 year campaign of so called ‘reporting’ to authorities of complaints against Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon, ranging from baseless accusations of tax fraud, charity rorts, encouraging physician assisted suicide, molestation, grooming, child abuse and all kinds of harms against children that have simply never occurred.
If such accusations were true or could be substantiated in any real way, then participants in such crimes would be in jail.
They are serious crimes.
However, for each and every complaint about these apparently egregious activities, the government authorities charged with considering these complaints have either dismissed them with no further inquiry or, adhering to their own requirements of due diligence, have found no case to answer after extensive investigation and, like all before them, have dismissed the complaints.
It is important to note, that even the authorities concerned have identified that Esther Rockett has no substantial facts to back her many outlandish complaints, Rockett herself complained that:
‘The Health Care Complaints Commission tried to depict me to the NSW Health Minister as some sort of wind bag/nuisance, telling her office I’d obtained all the information for my complaints from the Universal Medicine website.’ (23 September 2013)
Esther Rockett complained on her blogsites that the HCCC had suggested that she produce people who had actually been harmed if she was seeking for them to act. In the 5 years of her activities she obviously has never presented anyone to support her allegations, since there has been no action taken.
Since Esther Rockett had no one to produce to support her claims to the HCCC she has been compelled to admit she was unable to prove anything, or as she put it, she cannot show that ‘the issues are genuine if no one else complains’.
However, in spite of having no evidence of the imagined wrongs she complains of and consistently being rebuffed with the failures of her complaints, she continues to rehash the same material to anyone who will listen, with more of the same.
More recently, the UK Charities Commission in considering complaints delivered to it by Esther Rockett (that had required it to exercise due diligence and funnel its resources into inquiries), determined that:
‘if the Commission receive similar complaints from this or other complainants it is unlikely they would be assessed and escalated to a regulatory team as they would potentially be deemed vexatious.’
With 5 years of complaining behind her and not a single ‘victim’ to support her claims, it is no wonder that Esther Rockett was more than delighted when a German ‘woman’ called ‘Olga’ appeared on her website comments pages.
Finally, it appeared, superficially at least, that Esther Rockett had finally found her ‘victim’, someone to pin her hopes upon.
Esther Rockett’s ‘witness’ – the diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic
There was a stir of excitement on Esther Rockett’s blogsites when ‘Olga’ appeared on the scene.
As noted, Rockett has spent years calling for supposed ‘victims’ to come forward, complaining about the HCCC who had not acted upon her numerous complaints about Serge Benhayon – the HCCC had sensibly and consistently pointed out that if they were to take action they would need actual evidence of harm to someone.
The government agency had no reason to act upon Rockett’s complaints in the absence of evidence of harm and over the years she has clearly never remedied this by producing a witness that supported her allegations of misconduct of any kind.
Then along came ‘Olga’, finally Esther Rockett had a so called ‘victim’. ‘Olga’ was everything Esther Rockett dreamed of, EXCEPT ‘Olga’ was not ‘Olga’ at all, but a middle aged German man, called Stefan, who has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, who at some stage believed he was Helena Blavatsky (or a reincarnation of Helena Blavatsky, it’s not entirely clear).
A rare or rarefied account
Stefan describes his accounts of Universal Medicine in the terms that appear to have been perfectly fed to him by Rockett, reproducing material from Rockett’s blogs into German and being encouraged to describe his encounters with Universal Medicine.
It is not clear where Esther’s accounts and ‘Olga’s’ AKA Stefan’s accounts begin and end, since they are a strange pastiche of mutterings that combine bits of ‘classic’ Esther Rockett propaganda with Stefan’s own hurt narrative of being ignored and abandoned. There appears to be little self-awareness that when you suffer from paranoia and are in a psychosis, your behaviour isolates you and it is part of the illness to feel isolation. Bizarre and dysfunctional behaviours have a way of alienating others.
Rockett describes her new ‘informant’ as offering ‘a rare first-hand account’ – well if it is ‘rare’, isn’t it worth looking at why this may be? Serge Benhayon has been teaching thousands of students world-wide for 18 years, with thousands of people involved and all that Esther Rockett can present is ‘Olga’ as a model of harm done.
Has Rockett ever paused to consider why such an account is ‘rare’? Is it rare because you have to go to extreme lengths to fashion misconceptions and false perceptions into a narrative?
In Olga’s/Stefan’s case, the translations of his German blogsite, which was ‘inspired’ by Rockett’s own, suggests someone who is deeply disturbed – the narrative is broken and disjointed – he attempts to adopt Rockett’s narrative, but any attempt at copying a narrative that is already a fiction and then trying to make it real, is not going to have a great outcome.
Is it a rare account because all those highly functioning, highly successful, WORKING Universal Medicine students who are living lives that also assume responsibility for their well-being, must be, according to Esther Rockett – faking it, or being suppressed?
Esther Rockett ignores that their good jobs, nice houses in nice neighbourhoods and their nice cars (yes there is an Audi or two) actually reflect highly functioning and successful lives.
Esther Rockett turns those measures of worldly success into an account suggesting that Universal Medicine students are no more than, Audi-driving zombies animated only by covert hypnosis and a dangerous diet that, according to Matthew Sutherland (another of her ‘reliable sources’), consists of not much more than roast lamb served with peas.
What is the real source of Universal Medicine student’s good fortune? Could it be dedicated and consistent hard work that pays off with material advantages?
Esther Rockett will no doubt find a story that suggests this good fortune is the result of exploitative or nefarious activities, rather than dedication to employment.
She misses the fact that Serge Benhayon and the work of Universal Medicine has supported many to develop in their work and vocations and to work hard and excel.
Meanwhile, Esther Rockett has allowed her AHPRA registration as an Acupuncturist lapse, reduced herself to unemployment to pursue her vendetta against Universal Medicine, declared herself bankrupt AND is begging for financial support to keep a roof over her head. Apparently, she does not have time to have an actual job.
Now we have a man, Stefan, posing as a woman, ‘Olga’, who confesses his diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia. Esther Rockett takes advantage of the vulnerable, seizing upon his story as the great example of the harm of Universal Medicine and pretty much stating that Universal Medicine was causative of ‘Olga’s’ paranoid schizophrenia.
It is an entirely unsupportable assertion, but when has that EVER prevented Esther Rockett from leaping from fact to false assumption?
Perhaps encouraged by Rockett’s version of the aetiology of his psychiatric condition, Olga inferred that his delusions, one of which had him believing that he was H.P. Blavatsky, was part of being manipulated into believing the craziest things.
However, it is certain that Stefan had never been told he was a reincarnation of Blavatsky by anyone associated with Universal Medicine, or that he had been in any way encouraged in his delusion. His delusion was part of a psychiatric condition, and apparently recognised by specialists as such.
We do not know of Stefan’s mental health before his diagnosis and hospitalisation, and that would be an important consideration. Were there no indicators of poor health prior to his involvement with Universal Medicine?
There are thousands of students who have participated in Universal Medicine courses, retreats and sessions over the past 18 years. Rockett’s falsehood that there is a risk of such harm from participation in Universal Medicine activities is exposed by the fact that 1.1% of the population are vulnerable to paranoid schizophrenia1, and thus, this figure alone suggests that a lot more students of Universal Medicine would have been triggered into psychosis and ended up in a mental health care facility IF Esther Rockett’s theory were true. But the facts simply do not add up. ‘Olga’ is her only ‘prize’.
Instead, what the students of Universal Medicine represent are highly functioning, highly successful, healthy people.
This contrast is something that Esther Rockett attempts to obscure with unsubstantiated assertions of ill-health in the student body. We have a societal trend in some Western nations of over 65% of adults being overweight or obese2 with serious health consequences on a global level3.
Rockett’s bizarre assertions that a diet that, wait for it, leads to weight loss, not just in the short term, but as a long-term benefit of involvement with Universal Medicine, is UNHEALTHY. When it is any public health official’s dream to have long term sustainable weight loss and a community that eschews alcohol, drugs and cigarettes.
How much is spent in dealing with those issues on a community level? How much of our public health funds are spent each year on preventive programmes that are in fact useless? With Universal Medicine, there is a model of well-being placed upon the public record.
‘Olga’ yields to this approach with a claim of wasting away as a student – it is entirely plausible that his weight loss was actually another symptom of his mental illness, since such symptoms can accompany the loss of function that is part of such serious mental health conditions. It is evident that Stefan’s friend, ‘Piroschka’ (whose real name is Andrea Frantzel), shows no sign of fading away, presumably also adhering to the same so called ‘diet’.
Notably, Serge Benhayon has never instructed any individual on how much food they should eat or not. It has always been presented that what one eats and how much or how often one eats, is a matter of individual discernment. In the course of meals shared with Universal Medicine students or indeed the Benhayon family, one is struck by the abundance of wholesome, healthy food and the substantial amounts of food that individuals enjoy.
Rockett’s desperation to find a victim to bolster her five years of unsubstantiated claims of ‘healing harms’ has yielded this one saviour – Stefan posing as ‘Olga’ who any rational person would see is unwell and incoherent.
Between bizarre and disjointed reports of his own experiences, peppered with utterances such as ‘seeing them getting kicked in the nuts would make me joy-full’ there is nothing new in what ‘Olga’ rehashes from Rockett.
There is still not a single fact that gives any credence to Esther Rockett’s lies about sexual abuse of women and children or child abuse; all Esther Rockett has in ‘Olga’ AKA ‘Stefan’ is a smoke screen that she is milking for all it is worth to hide the fact that she has nothing to support her outrageous claims. The only thing she appears to have is a tenacity to fabricate without censure to make something out of nothing.
Rockett’s own delusions
Rockett has her own delusions going on. She has persistently made paranoid suggestions that Universal Medicine is coming after her and anyone who comes forward is at risk of being targeted. She has had this narrative going on since she began blogging about Universal Medicine, she has said that in the beginning she believed that she needed to keep her identity anonymous for fear of reprisals.
Her identity was known by Serge Benhayon from early on in her career as an Internet troll, the only thing that has occurred is that she has been exposed as a troll on this site (some two years after her identity became known) and the proper legal processes have been engaged to deal with her.
Suggesting that she needed anonymity for fear of reprisals thus appears to be a convenient justification for her activities as a keyboard coward cloaked in anonymity. Just as convenient as her self appointed (and self important) titles of ‘whistleblower’, child safety advocate or health care activist.
It could be suggested that Ms Rockett found it convenient to cloak herself in anonymity because it allowed her to write whatever vile and malicious filth she liked with zero accountability. She has kept her pseudonyms alive when it suits her.
What has happened to Esther Rockett is a picture of her own life falling apart due to her own obsession.
Her bizarre paranoia that she is being watched (or that the cult might come after her) is illustrated with comments such as this, where she imagines that she was under surveillance:
‘They’ve had some of us under surveillance – knuckle scraping buffoons loitering outside my premises that scuttle away when given stink eye. … Was that supposed to frighten me?
And mail going missing – bank statements, decision letters from regulators…’
There is no one engaged by Universal Medicine to come after her, or indeed observe her, this appears to be yet another product of an over-active imagination infected with paranoia. It is also perhaps an illustration of her own considered self-importance in the scheme of things, where in fact there is little interest in her life or what she does.
She has suggested that if something ‘happens to her’ she has placed all her ‘research’ and material on Universal Medicine on trust to others so it is not lost. Such insights into the workings of Esther Rockett’s mind is reminiscent of Pauline Hansen’s 1997 strange and idiotic ‘message from the grave’ … “Fellow Australians, if you are seeing me now it means I have been murdered”.
Surely one of the more embarrassing moments in Australian politics. However, without restraint, Esther Rockett has been promulgating the same fabrications – with wild declarations that if ‘anything’ happened to her then her supposed ‘research’ would be safe as she had put it in trust. Seriously!
Seems Esther Rockett and ‘Olga’ both have a shared love of multiple identities, and also share a deep paranoia with a persecution complex. It is a fiction to suggest that she or any person who comes forward is at risk of persecution. Exposing anonymous trolls and correcting lies told is not persecution.
However, as far as delusions go, Rockett has believed some extraordinary ones: kids stay at a house with a family and ergo the man in the house is indecently interested in young girls; OR a tax debt appears on accounts, ergo there is something nefarious going on.
When the mistake of her own making is revealed and official documents prove that there is no tax debt (as there is a tax credit elsewhere), the next lie is to surmise that there is no debt because the money has been paid to hide wrongdoing. The delusional thinking goes on and on. More on this to come.
Perhaps the greatest error Rockett has made was to have believed the facts that were told to her by Lance Martin, a man who was hell bent on revenge, without checking the veracity of those facts, but simply believing whatever fabrications were thrown her way.
Perhaps what is more pathological, is that when corrected publicly on all her fabrications, and the truth presented, time and time again, instead of revising her misconceptions and misperceptions, Rockett has bent over backwards to ignore the facts presented, with pronouncements that showed she was intent on keeping her blinkers on, for example, declaring:
‘I don’t care what they think or write. If I did I wouldn’t be here continuing the exposure. I don’t read it.’
Yes, she kept on at what she termed ‘exposure’, when all she was offering up was more concocted lies to support the ones she had told in the first place.
Thus, we ask: who is it who is dug so deep into the well of delusion that there appears to be no way of bailing out?
And let’s not forget that her work has fallen away, she cannot support herself by earning a living, she is begging for people to support her and keep a roof over her head and appears to be following the propagation of her fabrications to a bitter end.
And it presses us to ask: who is the one who is delusional?
